The German online and mail order business is booming. With almost double-digit growth, e-commerce sales are expected to reach a total of 57.8 billion euros by the end of 2019, according to a study by the German Retail Association. Statistics show that German online shoppers prefer to buy clothing and sports goods, consumer goods such as furniture and toys, as well as books and e-books online – closely followed by holiday accomodations, tickets for events, electrical goods, computers, mobile phones and matching accessories. By 2021, sales in German online trade are even expected to reach at least 80.4 billion euros.
